Shala Music is now part of the Paul& Sheila Smith site in the Archives page. All videos are on this page. Clicking on the Archives will display a menu of everything in the archives: audios, videos, lyrics & manuscripts.
Shala Music was started as an ASCAP publisher in the late 1980's, as a vehicle for publishing Sheila Smith's original songs. It is registered in Alameda County, CA as a music publishing business. We also used the name as our production company and record label, all facets of publishing.
Shala Music also publishes some of Sharman Duran's original songs. A video of the title song for Sharman's album, released in the summer of 2010, 'Future Echo', can be found on YouTube Channel.
Shala means 'school' in India, a fact we were unaware of when we chose the name. We always thought of our lives as School, so on some level we were given the name.
I plan on posting everything we published, or intended to publish. This is the least I can do for Sheila, who is my inspiration. In memory of Sheila, my sweet lover .
